HCP: Humanities CyberPlatform
2008/10/11 updated
A great number of digital images of historical documents have been created for humanity studies. However, the conventional tools are not appropriate for transcription and annotation of the images. The potential of the digitalization has not been exploited yet. Now is the right time to build tools for humanity studies with the digital images of historical documents. HCP project is a project by humanity reseachers aiming for such an objective and information researchers who are willing to help their colleagues to make dreams real. The project aims to build HCP:Humanities CyberPlatform, and the body of knowledge to utilize the platfrom and a group of people who maintin them.

SMART-GS
(A) The origin of HCP project. It was successfully used in the study of Hilbert's mathematical notebooks.
(B) Demo of SMART-GS applied to Hilbert notebook researche.
(1) Marking up and linking images of texts(avi)
(2) Searching a mathemtician's name "Kroneceker" in the first book by the bucket image search (wmv, photo)
(3) An example of reasoning representation in Hilbert notebook research. Philological analysis of Hilbert's early philosophical considertation and his algebraic study(avi)
HDIMS
(A) A search tool by Kengo Terasawa, who is the author of the image search engine of SMART-GS. It comes with a text line segmentation tool SegfoMaker.
(B) Text line segmentation and image search of Baron Yuzaburo Kuratomi's diary with SegfoMaker and HDIS:
(1) Semi-automatic text line segmentation(mpg,avi)
(2) Another text line segmentation (mpg, avi).
(3) Image searching (mpg,avi),
(4) Searching "Prince Kitashirakawa" (mpg,avi)。
